CHANGES IN THIS ISSUE

Detailed industry analysis has been included in the commentary of this publication. See pages 6 - 7.

REVISIONS

Revisions have been applied to the July 2010 original estimates, the most significant of which is for the Supermarkets and grocery stores industry subgroup in Queensland and Western Australia. By consequence, higher level industry, state and Australia original aggregates have also been revised. These revisions are a result of updated information received from survey respondents. In addition, the seasonally adjusted estimates have also been updated as they are produced by the concurrent seasonal adjusted method which takes account of the latest available original estimates, and the trend estimates are derived by applying a 13-term Henderson moving average to the seasonally adjusted monthly series.

TIME SERIES DATA

Data available from the Downloads tab of this issue on the ABS website include longer time series of tables in this publication, the quarterly chain volume measures and the following additional current price monthly series:

  • Retail turnover completely enumerated and sample sector, by six industry groups in original terms
